HIGHLIGHTS from the 2nd Canadian National Workshop on CHARGE syndrome: "Finding a Gene for CHARGESyndrome...now what?"
featuring Conny VanRavenswaaij, from the Netharlands team who found the gene related to CHARGE syndrome, (2nd from right) with Dr. KD Blake, Dalhouse University (far left) and Dr. Chitra Prasad, London Health Science Center, (far right). Workshop chair Ann Gloyn (2nd from left) would like to THANK all participants and speakers, but especially the SICK KIDS FOUNDATION WHO MADE THIS DAY POSSIBLE!
Dr. Prasad lectures to guests in the beautiful historic "George Brown Heritage House" in Toronto, Ontario. The networking of experts who are familiar with CHARGE syndrome in an atmosphere where all can learn from each other was important to the success of the day.

The children's program was supervised by Ann Gloyn, Education Specialist who has worked hands-on with children who are deafblind or visually impaired with additional disabilities for more then 20 years. We had some students from the Intervenor course at George Brown College working directly with the children who attended.

It was an opportunity also for new parents to meet with other families and network with others who have an interest in CHARGE syndrome.
