Functional Auditory Assessment
Use these questions below to create experiences during co-active play. Try in different situations and with different people such as a parent, sibling, teacher.... Use video tape so that you can better review the reactions of the child.
Does the child:
1. turn head toward interesting sound?
2. respond to their name?
3. repeat words given once clearly?
4. use vocalizaitons?
5. make sounds that change in pitch?
6. make sounds that change in form?
7. make sound that contains syllables?
8. frequently react to environmental sound?
9. go and investigate sound sources?
10. discriminate between a variety of gross environmental sound?
11. initiate using sound producing instruments and toys?
12. appear to listen to music?
13. imitate simple speech sounds when given? (ma, ba,)
14. seem aware when continuous sound presented stops?
