Poster: "The Effects are Endless"
A highlight for CHARGE Syndrome Canada at the "7th International Conference on CHARGE Syndrome" in Miami was the "unveiling" of the design for the "Canadian CHARGE syndrome poster" which is intitled, "The Effects are Endless". The poster was designed by Troy Graves, a graphic artist, and Cydne Park, parent of a child with CHARGE. The poster will be produced by "Gravotto Graphic Design " in Edmonton.
The design of the poster was met with great enthusiasm by individuals with an interest in CHARGE, parents, and representatives from other CHARGE Syndrome organizations in other parts of the world during the conference. Dr. KD Blake, professor of pediatrics from Dalhousie University gave her "stamp of approval" on the poster design, and as well local hospitals in Alberta have been very enthusiastic.
CHARGE Syndrome Canada is attempting to solicit grant money so that we can produce a large number of the posters for various parts of Canada, as well as meet requests from other countries. We already have a donation from the "Exceptional Families Resource Network" in Alberta towards the poster distribution project.
It is hoped that CHARGE Syndrome Canada will distribute the "CHARGE Syndrome Information Pamphlet" along with any "Canadian genetic research updates" when the posters are available to be distributed. Order forms will soon be posted on the website, and requests can also be made to head office. The distribution of the posters will lead CHARGE Syndrome Canada to greater networking throughout the world.
The board of CHARGE Syndrome Canada is very proud of the efforts of Cydne Park in this endevour. This project goes beyond simply meeting our Mission. It is the realization of the dream of a parent to have CHARGE syndrome recognized and identified throughout the world. Cydne has extended the project to include designs which incorporate other languages. Please watch for more details as this project unfolds.
