A National Human Rights Conference

June 14-16, 2006 in Fredericton

The New Brunswick Human Rights Commission and the Atlantic Human Rights Centre at St Thomas University invite you to attend the annual conference of the Canadian Association of Statutory Human Rights Agencies.

The CASHRA 2006 conference will examine the roots of human rights in Canada, celebrate our achievements, and look toward the challenges of the future. This national conference will focus on five themes:

• Accommodating People with a Disability
• Balancing Security and Human Rights: Immigration and Multiculturalism
• The Acadian Story: Language and Human Rights
• The Legacy of John Peters Humphrey
• Human Rights in Practice  
  The conference is designed to help employers and unions understand their human rights obligations, service providers meet the needs of their clients, and human rights academics and practitioners keep up to date on current issues and best practices.

The Neil Squire Society is pleased to announce that our next Employ-Ability program will be starting on  July 10, 2006 in Moncton and Fredericton .   This 12 weeks pre employment program is designed specifically for individuals with a physical disability.   It is an individualized program which provides both group and a one-to-one supportive environment that helps the participants in a number of areas.      For more information on this program, visit the program information page:
